Drunk drivers may be imprisoned for 10 years

Repeated drunken driving within a year may soon result is the confiscation for your car.

It affects legal entities too, head of the judicial commission in the House of Representatives Lyudmila Mihalkova said.

The fines for drunken driving will be increased to 100 base amounts (10 miillion roubles instead of the current 3.5 millions). The drivers who caused accidents that resulted in the death of 2 or more people will be imprisoned for 4-10 years.

The bill is being debated in the House of Representatives now. It may be adopted in autumn and then it will come into power three months after its publication.
