Surovy joins «Dinamo»

HC Dinamo Minsk has signed 31-year-old Slovak forward Tomas Surovy to a two-year contract.

The player is well-known in the Kontinental Hockey League. He played for Dinamo Riga (2010/11), CSKA Moscow (2011/12), and Lev Praha (2012/13). Besides, Tomas Surovy played in the North American leagues, in Sweden and Slovakia. His main achievement before joining the KHL was IIHF World championship bronze medals as part of the Slovakia national junior team. The player was drafted in the 4th round by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Tomas Surovy also played for Team Slovakia at six world championships and the Olympics Games. He had 23 goals and 30 assists in 61 games of his national team.

The Belarusian club will use a new 6+1 formula (6 foreign players and one foreign goaltender) in the KHL 2013/14 season.
