National Statistics Committee: GDP growth falls to 1.1%, production slumps to 3.5%

In January-May 2013 Belarus’ GDP totaled Br217.6 trillion in current prices, 1.1% up from the same period of last year in comparable prices.

In current prices the gross added value was close to Br187.5 trillion, or 86.2% of the GDP, 0.1% less in comparable prices than the figure registered in January-May 2012, wrote National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

In January-May the industrial output dropped by 3.5% to over Br253.3 trillion. In January-April 2013 labor productivity of the gross domestic product amounted to 103.5% as against the same period of last year, or Br37.34 million. The share of innovative products in the total volume of merchandise shipped in January-May 2013 was 17.6%.

As of 1 June 2013 the value of the stock in storage was close to Br32.5 trillion, or 81% of the average monthly output.

In January-May 2013 fixed-capital investments rose by 10.5% from January-May 2012 to exceed Br64.14 trillion.
