FC Polotsk players boycott match: No money to pay salary

Football Club Polatsk did’t play a game of the tenth tour of the Belarusian First League.

Players decided to boycott the game due to wage arrears for the last 2.5 months, goals.by reports.

The Football Federation of Belarus knows about the problem. The Federation offered a bus to transport the team to the match, but the problem of wage arrears remains.

Players went home after a training session.

The match Smorgon vs Polotsk is to take place today at 18:00.

Many Belarusian football clubs have faced financial difficulties. The game Vedrich vs Gorodeya on June 16 was delayed due to a strike of the team from Rechytsa. Vedrich players decided to delay the match protesting against financial problems of the club. They haven’t received salaries for at least three months.

In late May, players of Dinamo Brest delayed the match against Slavia for 10 minutes protesting against failure to pay salaries. Fans on the stadium supported them and began to chant slogans demanding the resignation of Kanstantsin Sumar, the head of the Brest regional executive committee. Players haven’t received wages for more than four months.
