Tanks roared in Minsk

At the rush hour Minsk’s city center was paralyzed by military equipment.

A rehersal of the 3 July parade has been taking place in Masherava, Hvardziejskaja, Tarkhanava, Griboedova and Ihnacienka Streets and a part of Nezalezhnasci Avenue from 19 o’clock onwards.

As Minsk residents report in social media, this caused huge inconveniences: people could not come back home from work.

“The parade is, of course, everything to them. But to block the Avenue and a bunch of streets in the evening in order to clank with tanks and other not yet sold howitzer… Smart, smart! I would simply suggest to evict everyone from the city for the time of rehgearsals and parades”, - a journalist of Komsomolskaja Pravda v Belorussii Volha Ancipienka posted on her Facebook account.

Capital’s residents also note that the asphalt will have to be repaired in many places in the city’s central streets after the parade.

We would remind that due to the parade’s rehearsal the road police forbad car owners to park their cars in some streets until 3 July. Motorists are also asked to “be especially alert”.
