A crowd of angry people punished a riot police officer in Babruisk.
On June 29, a vehicle belonging to the riot police crashed into a crowd of spectators during a show as part of festivities to mark the 626th anniversary of Babruisk. Charter97.org has learnt this information from eye-witnesses.
“Intensive care vehicles and ambulances arrived. One person has serious injuries. Photographing was forbidden,” an eye-witness said.
An angry mob beat the driver of the police car.
The incident took place in Gorky Street at 14:00.
The police department of Babruisk confirmed the information to a charter97.org correspondent, but said that the riot police officer hadn't been beaten. Some people were injured in the accident and one person had serious injuries.
A readers of charter97.org tells the details the incident.
“I stood a metre from the scene of the tragedy. A police car drove on the pavement at a rather high speed and crashed into the crowd. Some people appeared under the car. A young girl had a displaced leg fracture (as an ambulance doctor said) and a serious shoulder injury. She had an immovable bandage on the neck. She was taken to a hospital. Other people received light bruises.
The most unpleasant thing is that a middle-aged man with a badge “Organiser of Wreath of Friendship 2013 Festival” was walking about and saying that it was a staged accident and no people were injured. He hadn't have his name on the badge.”
