Andrei Haidukou's counsel appealed the verdict

As the journalists informed by Andrei's mother, Volha Haidukova, the lawyer Vadzim Mushynski appealed the verdict at the Supreme Court of Belarus.

According to her, Andrei will be kept in the Vitsebsk remand prison at least till the end of July and the mother will try to get a meeting with him during that time.

On 1 July the civil activist from Navapolatsk Andrei Haidukou was found guilty of attempting to establish cooperation with foreign intelligence and sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.

The trial was held behind closed doors at the Vitsebsk Regional Court. It is still unknown whether Andrei Haidukou pleaded guilty or not.
