Author of scandalous video about MAZ may face criminal case

Ruslan Mirzoeu, who made a video about the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), was called to the plant's security service.

The worker was threatened with initiating a criminal case. He was ordered to remove the video, onliner.by reports.

“I still work at MAZ. I was called to the security service today and asked to remove the video. I did so. They said I could be brought to criminal responsibility. What will be, will be. It's the will of higher forces. I did everything I could. I deleted the video. I will try to live without fear and keep my mind off troubles. In the video, I just showed the real situation without exaggeration. I always tell the truth,” Ruslan Mirzoeu says.

The MAZ worker doesn't think he is guilty. He says the video shows what's going on in the shop every day.

“They say that I defamed, poured dirt, exaggerated and so on. They say the people, whom I allegedly defamed, will file complaints. But these people didn't protest when I was shooting the video. They took the situation with humour. This story may have a sad end. I have no regrets. Maybe there were some exaggeration... But what was the aim of the video? It was made just for fun. It's true what is shown in the films. I didn't hide anything,” he says.

Ruslan Mirzoeu says he won't be upset if he is sacked from the plant.

“Perhaps I'll face it now. Last time they couldn't fire me, because I was serving my term in the correctional facility. I was sent to the plant as part of the punishment. There's an order that all persons in Minsk correctional facilities must work at MAZ. I am serving my term at home now. They had the right to terminate my employment agreement just after the release, but I decided to go to another shop, work there for a year and look for something better, because I have a child. I have an agreement for a year, but it seems they will make me dismiss voluntary. But if I need to work for a year, I will work,” he says.
