Hooligan who beat a Syrian doctor to stay in custody for up to 10 days

Minsker, guilty of beating a Syrian citizen in the train Orsha - Minsk, detained for 10 days.

The incident happened in Minsk-Vorsha commuter train on July 6. A Minsker, born in 1994, hit a Syrian citizen, medical post-graduate student, in the face several times. A criminal case has been started under the "hooliganism" article. The offender was arrested after the video and the photos from the commuter train appeared on the internet.

The youngster explains his deed by the fact that there was a provocation, while the Investigatory Committee states it was not an ethnic crime, but an ordinary act of hooliganism.

The detainee is in the status of a suspect now, no accusations have been presented so far.
