BChD activists hanged out a flag in the center of Minsk as a sign of solidarity with political prisoners.

The activists of Belarusian Christian Democracy hanged out a big white-red-white flag in Niezaliezhnasci Avenue near Jakub Kolas Square at 20.00 on 16 July on the day of solidarity with political prisoners. The flag lasted for around half an hour and was visible for pedestrians and drivers alike, BChD’s press-service reports.

“We are filled with indignation about the news from the prison number 4 in Mahilou. We demand that the monstrous practices of forcing out pleas for pardon are stopped! Shame on the provocateurs! Freedom to Statkievich, Dziadok, Vaskovich! We demand that the persecution of Parfiankou and Jaromienak is stopped! We encourage to send letters to political prisoners. We demand the immediate release of all political prisoners!”, - the action’s organizers stated.

We would remind that people in Belarus holds solidarity actions on the 16th day of every month.
