Hockey player Syarhei Kastsitsyn to become a Russian citizen

The Belarusian forward of Avangard Omsk is going to get a Russian passport in the beginning of the CHL season.

According to the website Arena55, Kastsitsyn will not be a legionary any longer, most probably. In the new CHL regulations, which will be okayed soon, a hockey player with a Russian passport is not considered a legionary even if he plays for a foreign national team.

Avangard will be able to play one more legionary due to Kastsitsyn's new passport, while Syarhei Kastsitsyn will be able to continue playing for the Belarusian national team.
