Offshore zones found near Belarusian border

Belarus export more milk to Russia than it produces.

The head of Russia’s Rospotrebnadzor Gennadiy Onishchenko is concerned with the characteristics of certain products, coming to Russia from Customs Union countries.

“They all join the Customs Union to get into our huge market. Now we see offshore zones along the Belarusian border, where all the surplus stock is sent. And suddenly in the offshore zones they turn into Belarusian products as goods from Belarus. Belarus now export more milk to Russia, than it produces”, - Onishchenko claimed on Wednesday at a meeting with an ombudsman Boris Titov.

He also turned attention to the imports of Chinese products to Russia marked with “Made in China” labels.

“The overall balance of Chinese products coming from Kazakhstan has decreased. But if we analyze the overall balance of Kazakh and Chinese products, then we will see that it has even increased. I suspect, that products with Kazakh label are already coming from China. He we should understand, what mechanisms to use, otherwise we risk losing everything”, - he added.
