Lukashenka to Lithuanian ambassador: We don't want to deal with swindlers

The ruler invites “decent investors” to Belarus.

Lukashenka spoke about his attitude towards people and companies investing in the Belarusian economy during a visit to the free economic zone Mahilou, AFN writes.

“The EU rebukes us that we have bureaucracy that impede access to the market. Just to let you know, regional governors and Minsk mayor have tasks to attract investments. This criticism looks ungrounded,” Lukashenka said.

“They are happy to welcome investors, decent ones. We work with such people. But we don't want to deal with swindlers. The criticism that a foreigner cannot open business here is ungrounded,” Lukashenka said to Lithuania's Ambassador to Belarus Evaldas Ignatavicius.

It worth noting that foreign investments in the real sector made up 14.3 billion dollars last year, according to official statistics. This is almost 25% less than in 2011.
