Aliona Lanskaja’s producer found dead

(updated) The general producer of Aliona Lanskaja, who represented Belarus at the latest Eurovision song contest, suddenly died.

This information was confirmed by the sources in music circles. Dzmitry Baranay was 38. Condolences are being posted on his Facebook wall.

According to preliminary data, the reason for the death was a sudden heart failure.

According to what a People's Artist of Belarus, the head of the Eurofest project Aliaksandr Cikhanovich told BelaPAN, Baranau died in the evening on 9 August behind the wheel of his car.

A random passerby saw as he managed to park the car, but failed to get out of the car.

Aliaksandr Cikhanovich noted that Baranau had never complained about the heart. Moreover, he did sports actively and jogged daily.

In 2012 it was precisely the general manger of Aliona Lanskaja, who was accused of juggling with the results of the selection contest for the Eurovision, according to which the singer was proclaimed the winner. Later on the results were cancelled and the Litesound band took the first place, which represented Belarus at the Eurovision-2012 in Baku.

The singer Lanskaja is a protégé of the oligarchs close to Lukashenka. Among Aliona Lanskaja’s sponsonrs there were a businessman from Navapolatsk Mikalaj Verabej, the head of the Interservice company, which sells oil, an oligarch Aliaksandr Shakucin.

At the Eurovision Lanskajawas 16th, although over a million dollars was spent on her promotion, according to reports.

After Dzmitry Baranau’s death the singer said: “My soul is being torn apart. Dzima was one of the best, the best producer – smart, professional, adequate. He could have given so much more to me and other artists”.

It is planned that Dzmitry’s body will be taken to nunnery in Navinki in the second half of the day on Sunday. Accordinal to the preliminary information, the funeral will take place on Monday 12 August.

Dzmitry Baranau has been survived by parents and a younger brother.
