VIP-cottages for KGB officials being built in Dokshycy district

The organization ’Belarus KGB’s sanatorium Lesnoe’ has announced a bidding for building a cottage settlement in its territory.

According to the purchasing conditions two types of private houses must be projected – standard and VIP. They are going to build four VIP cottages and as many standard ones as the territory allows, the Viciebsk Popular News reports.

The standard houses will be single-storeyed with two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. The VIP cottages are intended to be double-storeyed: on the second floor there will be three bedrooms and a bathroom, on the first – another bathrooms and a kitchen. Apart from that the usual bathtub of the standard’s variant will be replaced with a jacuzzi in the second floor bathroom of the VIP cottage version.

The requirement for the price of the new KGB cottages is for it to be “acceptable”. For a single-storeyed house it is acceptable to cost up to 50 000 United States dollars, and for a double-storeyed cottage the top price is not mentioned.

Not only the special service’s employees have vacations in the KGB sanatorium Lesnoe. A citizen of Belarus or Russia can buy a voucher to go there. For the former the cheapest one will cost 3 913 250 Belarusian roubles, for the latter - 17 632 Russian roubles. For a New Year’s tour from 28 December to 10 January Russians would have to pay 25 721 in their currency, and Belarusians can pay the amount in Belarusian roubles according to the National Bank’s exchange rate.

The construction of the cottage settlement is being financed by KGB employees’ own resources.
