Provocations against Statkevich go on

Political prisoner Mikalai Statkevoch made a phone call to his family from prison on Saturday, August 24.
“It was a scheduled call he can make every month. I had been waiting for it since the first days of August. His previous call was 1.5 months ago,” Maryna Adamovich, the wife of the political prisoner, says. “Absence of calls made us nervous after we heard about Mikalai's health in the middle of the month. He is cheerful, confident and has no complaints about health.
He began to receive birthday greetings. Mikalai asked to thank everyone who sent greetings to him even if their letters were not delivered. He knows what people write in letters to him. He thanks everyone who wants to support him.”
Mikalai Statkevich said he had faced attempts of pressure on him last week. He says they provoke him to do something to punish him with a disciplinary sanction.
Earlier Statkevich proposes the prison authorities to throw him into a punishment cell for no formal reasons instead of spending their energy on inventing “violations of prison rules”.
