Minsk's Zhudro Street occupied by people with walkie-talkies

Lukashenka decided to get acquainted with the current state and prospects for tennis in Belarus.

He plans to visit the Minsk City Tennis Centre of Olympic Reserve in Zhudro Street ahead of the Town Day, the presidential press service reports.

He is expected to hear reports on “the current state and prospects for further development of tennis in Belarus” and discuss a possibility of “creating conditions for sporting activities in Minsk's parks and yards”.

“Lukashenka is expected to examine the facilities and work of the tennis centre of Olympic reserves and talk to young sportsmen. The head of state also plans to attend a practice game of the republic's leading young sportsmen,” the press service informs.

Local residents say on social networking websites that policemen with walkie-talkies stood in every yard along Zhudro Street. About 40 street cleaners and a street sweeper vehicle have been cleaning the street since morning.
