Belarus’ Olga Govortsova into Tashkent Open final

Belarus’ tennis player Olga Govortsova (world No.113) has advanced to the women’s singles final of the Tashkent Open which prize pot is $235,000.
On 13 September the Belarusian overpowered Mandy Minella of Luxembourg (132) in the semifinal 6:2, 7:5 in one hour and a half. Olga Govortsova’s final opponent at the tournament will be Serbia’s Bojana Jovanovski (58).
In the first round of the women’s singles the Belarusian outplayed Michaella Krajicek (392) of the Netherlands 7:5, 2:6, 6:1 to set up a round 2 date with Donna Vekic (62) who she also defeated 7:6 (7:4), 6:3. In the quarterfinal Olga Govortsova did not leave a chance to Romania’s Alexandra Cadantu (71) 6:3, 6:2.
In the women’s doubles Olga Govortsova and Mandy Minella have made it to the final after seeing off Ukraine’s Kichenok sisters, Lyudmila and Nadezhda, 6:1, 6:3 on 12 September. In the first game Olga Govortsova and Mandy Minella, seeded second at the tournament, overpowered Mihaela Goncova (Slovakia) and Sandra Sharipova (Uzbekistan) 6:2, 6:2 and then defeated the Russian-Ukrainian duo of Arina Rodionova and Marina Zanevskaya 6:7 (3:7), 6:2, 11:9.
The competition in Uzbekistan’s capital will finish on 14 September.
