Miss Minsk 2013 may lose crown in October

Strippers and the beauty contest winner, who posted her explicit photos on a social networking website, can be deprived of their titles by the council on morality.

The meeting of the council to discuss the scandalous results of the beauty pageant were postponed several times.

“The meeting will be held in the second half of October,” the council chairman, Mikalai Charhinets, told Salidarnasts website. “I cannot say the exact date yet.”

He added that he had called Mitropolian Filaret and Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz to discuss the issue.

Other members of the morality council are heads of the Belarusian Muslims and Jews, the head of the Evangelical Lutheran church, people's artists Yadviha Paplauskaya and Aliaksandr Tsikhanovich, Olympic champion Aleksandr Medved, editor of Belaruskaya Dumka magazine Vadzim Hihin and others.

We remind that a scandal broke out after announcing the results of Miss Minsk 2013 contest. As Salidarnsts figured out, some participants and winners work as go-go dancers and strippers.

The fate of the Miss Minsk 2013 crown is still unclear. None of co-organisers (STV channel, the National Beauty School and the Minsk city executive committee) took responsibility for the controversial pageant.
