Viva Belarus gets Grand Prix at film festival in Istanbul

The movie Viva Belarus received the main award at the International Crime and Punishment Festival in Istanbul.

The film, presented by co-screenwriter and journalist Franak Viachorka and leading actor Zmitser Vinsent Papko, was screened three times – on September 15, 17 and 19, Radio Svaboda reports.

The Jury chose the winner from 10 films from Germany, Croatia, Spain, Canada, Israel and other countries. About 150 films were shown during the festival.

The 3d International Crime and Punishment Film Festival took place in Istanbul (Turkey) on September 13-19. An international academic conference on human rights was also held.

The movie Viva Belarus won the award in the Panorama section at the Gdynia Film Festival on September 13 and received the best screenplay award at the Brussels Film Festival.
