Police to deal with the journalist of “Sovetskaya Belorussiya”

The Savetski District Prosecutor's Office of Minsk filed to the police an appeal of the “Center of Legal Information” concerning the disclosure of the secret of investigation by a journalist of “Sovetskaya Belorussiya”.

On 23 August the educational institution “Center for Legal Transformation” filed to the prosecutor's office an official address with the demand to hold a check-up and give a legal assessment to the actions of an author of “Sovetskaya Belorussiya”, Ihar Dolin, who published letters of the convicted Vitsebsk activist Andrei Haidukou in issues No. 155 and No. 156.

These letters were a part of the criminal case which was considered in Vitsebsk behind the closed doors. They were published in the newspaper before the verdict entered into legal force. At present the Savetski District Police Department will discriminate in the legality of the disclosure of these materials.
