National Bank: Belarusian ruble to continue fall in value

The National Bank of Belarus expects to maintain the current rate of devaluation of the Belarusian ruble in 2015.

Journalists were told so by the first deputy chairman of board of the National Bank, Taras Nadolny on October 2 in Minsk, BelaPAN informs.

As said by him, the key directions of the money and credit policy for the year 2015 are at the final stage of authorization today.”

“The tendencies of Belarusian ruble’s weakening will be the same as in 2014,” Nadolny underlined.

He also noted: “If there will be no serious disturbancies in the neighbouring states, the rate of changes of the currency basket we see now are to remain, despite the rapid devaluation of the Russian ruble. So far we do not see particular reasons for changing the money and credit policy.”

From January 2 to October 2 the official exchange rate of the US dollar has grown by 11.46% (from Br9,510 to Br10,600).
