Students against “compulsion”

In Mahilyou students refuse to join the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, despite the threats of a “deputy”.

As said by the director of the branch of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, Mikalai Aldanau, those who would not join the ranks of the pro-governmental organisation, could face problems passing tests and exams, students of the educational institution inform. As said by them, even inspite of the threats of the branch’s director, no more than 20 persons out of about 120 have written an application for joining the BRYU, “Viasna” human rights centre informs.

Earlier Mikalai Aldanau told students that in order to avoid the situation which is developing in Ukrainian Donbas, everyone should join the BRYU.

It should be noted that Mikalai Aldanau is also a “deputy” of Mahilyou regional “council of deputies.”
