Separatists ask Belarus to send troops to Ukraine

The separatists believe that the Belarusian "peacekeepers" could resolve the conflict in the Donbas.

Representatives on the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" (DPR) supported the idea voiced by dictator Lukashenko to send peacekeepers to Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by the DPR "deputy chairman of the Supreme Council" of DPR, Miroslav Rudenko during his interview for the radio station Govorit Moskva (Moscow speaking).

"Perhaps Belarusians are as much related to us as Russians are. It would be great, if the Belarusian military contingent delineated between military forces just on the borders of the DPR and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) and by this would separated the territories of the People's republics from Ukraine," said Rudenko .

Lukashenko announced that he was ready to send Belarus peacekeeping troops to Ukraine. This was stated by him in the interview to Euronews.

"If there is a need, and I suppose it is very dangerous and terrifying thing, meaning the distrust between Russia and the West … and there is distrust between the parties of the conflict, I stand ready to use my armed forces in order to dissolve the conflicting parties," said the dictator.
