Lukashenka appointed a new Minister of Defence

The dictator appointed Andrew Raukou to the position of a new Minister of Defence.

The presidential press-service told charter97.org.

Before it Andrew Raukou took the position as Commander of North-West District Forces.

It should be reminded that Lukashenka signed the Decree on Yuri Zhadobin termination on November 25.

Now the ex-Minister of Defence is transferred to service because of age with the right to wear identifying insignias.

Andrew Raukou was born in June 25, 1967 in Raviaka village, Biashankovichski Region, Vitsebsk District.

In 1988 he graduated from Moscow Higher All-Troops Command College with honors. Further he made his career to the position of Battalion Commander.

In 1999 he graduated with honors from Command and Staff Department at Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus. He continued his service as Chief of Staff and Commander of military equipment base.

In 2005 he graduated with honors from Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Federation’s Armed Forces and took the position of Commander of the 103d Guards Mobile Brigade. In 2006 2012 he had an appointment as an Operations Officer, Deputy Chief of Staff of Western Operation Forces, First Deputy Commander of the North-West Operational Command.

Pursuant to Lukashenka’s Decree on November 16, 2012 Raukou was appointed to the position of Commander of the North-West Operational Command.
