Russian citizens massively settle houses around Victory Square in Minsk

100 metres away from Victory Square elite real estate is built.

The new houses in Rumyantsau Street in Minsk are hidden from the eyes of passers-by. Not many people guess that 100 metres away from Victory Square luxury properties are built. And the reason for lack of knowledge is simple – these houses have not been advertised anywhere. They have not been offered on the open market, “Nasha niva” writes.

Who had built the houses? According to official information, it is a little known investor “Vlate Holding”. The company is registered in the canton of Zug, Switzerland, and is engaged in sales of medical equipment and devices. The land for construction had not been put on open auction.

Back in 2006 the company built the first house in Rumyantsau Street, 7. Only ten flats had been designed in the five-storeyed building. Owners also received several parking places in an underground parking garage.

The Swiss decided to consolidate the commercial success of the construction last year, when they managed to build two more houses nearby.

Realtors say that foreigners seldom buy flats in Belarus. Even when deals are effected, real estate is registered to local citizens. The situation with the house in Rumyantsau Street, 3, is different. One third of dwellers in the elite house are citizens of the Russian Federation. There are not many well-known persons among them, a filmmaker Dmitry Astrakhan is one of them. He shoots most of his films in Belarus.

There are no officials or prominent businessmen from Belarus among owners of these flats. The flats have been distributed in a closed circle of people.

More than a half of the flats are registered to women. The same situation is observed in other elite houses of Minsk.

The only announcement about flats sold in Rumyantsau Street offers a price $6,700 per 1 square metre, which is almost 4 times as many as the average price in the city.
