Meeting of Tripartite Group on Donbas scheduled for Sunday

A trilateral meeting of the contact group to resolve the conflict in the east of Ukraine is planned for Sunday, December 21 in Minsk.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said at a press conference with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski on Wednesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent in Poland.

"We are going to hold a videoconference in the format of the Tripartite Liaison Group on Thursday-Friday, and we hope that a meeting of the Tripartite Liaison Group will take place on Sunday in Minsk," Poroshenko said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the meeting of the tripartite contact group to resolve the situation in the Donbas was scheduled for December 9 in Minsk. Later, it was reported that the meeting did not take place that day.

On December 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the delay of the Tripartite Liaison Group meeting in Minsk was connected to the desire of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics to discuss economic cooperation with the Ukrainian government.
