No Belarusians on board missing Air Asia plane

There were no Belarusian citizens on board the missing Air Asia plane.

“Air Asia Indonesia told the Belarusian Embassy in Indonesia that there were no Belarusians among the passengers on board the missing AirAsia flight QZ8501,” the statement of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reads.

The AirAsia plane disappeared with 162 people on board during a flight from Indonesia to Singapore on 28 December. The pilots requested a course change shortly before the plane lost contact with air traffic control.

According to media reports, there were 155 passengers and 7 crew members on board the plane, including 16 children and one infant. In line with the preliminary information, 157 people are Indonesian. Three people on board are from South Korea, and one person each is from Singapore, Malaysia.
