Minsk wins Dinamo derby, extends winning streak to eight games

HC Dinamo Minsk topped HC Dinamo Riga 2:1 in a home match on 28 December and thus extended the winning streak to eight matches.

Dinamo Riga took the lead early in the first period thanks to Gints Meija. That lead lasted exactly 40 minutes before Charles Linglet tied it up early in the third. The home team had more scoring opportunities in the final stanza but could not grab all three points before the hooter. Thus the battle went overtime with Paul Szczechura scoring a power play goal and thus sealing it for Minsk.

With 68 points after 38 games Dinamo Minsk go 5th in the West.

The Bisons take on HC Vityaz on 29 December in the final match of the 2014 calendar year.
