Anatol Lyabedzka: Lukashenka must resign after Myasnikovich

The resignation of the government is a sign that Belarus is going through a severe crisis.

It was said by the chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Lyabedzka, who commented on the today’s appointment of Andrei Kabyakou as to the position of the prime minister.

“And this has everything to do with the financial crisis,” the politician said. “There is an impression that the economic and financial policy has come to a dead-end completely, and Lukashenka wants to find a way out with minimum losses. He has sacrificed the government, but the new appointments are from the same old pack of cards. It means it could not be viewed as a Christmas present. It’s just another confirmation that we are in a profound crisis. Just before the holiday season the UCP launched the campaign with a demand for Lukashenka and the government to resign. The government has quitted, so we can say the objective has been gained partially, but the main thing is resignation of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, a free and fair election, a new government and a new leader of the state. It’s the only thing which could bring any real changes to Belarus.”

We remind that Lukashenka has replaced the leadership of the government, the National Bank and his administration.
