Dalia Grybauskaite: Russia's provocations demonstrate stupidity, not power

Russian aviation can cause air accidents.

An increased number of Russia's provocations, involving planes flying close to the arispace of the Baltic countries, demonstrate “stupidity, not power”.

“It's not demonstration of power, let them not enjoy it - it's demonstration of stupidity, irresponsible behavior - that's what it is,” Delfi.lt quotes Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite as saying at a joint press conference of the presidents of the Baltic States and Poland.

“Some planes are flying without response or giving identifications or even with some technologies where they are not seen on the radar. And this means that it is very dangerous for collisions and problems can occur in the air,” Grybauskaite added.

The Lithuanian president noted that the Russians would probably like people to think that they are strong and dangerous. But such provocations do not show Russia's power, according to her.

Lithuania's president earlier called Russia a “predatory aggressive neighbour whose hands are stained with blood”. Dalia Grybauskaite thinks Ukraine struggles not only for the country's independence, but also for peace in entire Europe.
