A total of 4,771 people in eastern Ukraine have been killed over the last eight months, and the number of injured is 10,360 people.

According to the report of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Radio Liberty reported on Tuesday.

The report, which covers the period of December 13-26, has said that the number of internally displaced people has sharply increased recently, to 610,000 people. Almost 594,000 Ukrainian citizens have sought refuge in neighboring countries.

The population of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions affected by the conflict is about 5.2 million people.

"The ceasefire in the east of Ukraine is constantly violated,” the report reads.

“In general, the intensity of the attacks has been decreased, but the movement of people continues to grow and this causes serious concerns about public safety," the report says.
