PACE votes for immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Crimea

PACE voted on Wednesday for the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Crimea in connection with the denunciation of the Black Sea Fleet agreements.

A relevant amendment to the resolution on Ukraine proposed by the Ukrainian delegation was passed at the PACE session on Wednesday. A total of 140 voted for the amendment, 32 voted against it, nine abstained.

"In connection with the denunciation by the Russian Federation of the agreements, concluded with Ukraine in 1997, on the Black Sea Fleet deployment in the Crimea, the Assembly calls on Russia immediately to withdraw its troops from the Crimea," the amendment reads.
