Russians can enter Ukraine after checks by Security Service and Interior Ministry

Ukraine has tightened border security measures for citizens of the Russian Federation.
The State Border Service of Ukraine opens the second line border control for the Russians. Russian citizens will be allowed to enter Ukraine after the checks by the Security Service and the Interior Ministry.
It was said by Oleh Slobodyan, a spokesman for the border service, at a briefing today, korrespondent.net reports.
“Taking into account the difficult situation on the Ukrainian border and in the continental part of the country, border control measures for Russian citizens entering the country were significantly tightened yesterday,” Slobodyan said.
According to him, border guard pay special attention to men travelling alone or in small groups, as well as to women of active age.
“All people coming from the territory of Russia will undergo the second line control: they will be asked about the purpose of their travel, where they are going to, whom they are going to meet and other relative points. The information will be thoroughly checked by officers of the Security Service and the Interior Ministry. A decision on whether they can enter Ukraine or not will be taken on the ground of the information obtained,” Slobodyan said.
He emphasised it wasn't a ban, but the measures to increase border control.
Slobodyan noted the State Border Service prepares explanations regarding the documents that can serve as additional arguments of the purpose of staying in Ukraine for Russian citizens in addition to the documents provided for by international agreements.
According to Slobodyan, 13,500 Russian citizens, mainly men aged 25 to 55, have not been allowed in Ukraine for the last two months. As many as 98 of them were banned from entering Ukraine for a long period.
