Long lines at Polish-Belarusian border

2

Polish authorities have introduced buffer zones at border-crossing points to Belarus because of long truck lines there.

Due to increased international goods exchange at Polish-Belarusian border-crossing points, the Customs Service of Poland is making provisions necessary for directing traffic and for maintaining access roads safety. In order to get that done, buffer zones for trucks leaving Poland have been created on the roads leading to such border-crossing points as Kuznitsa, Babrouniki and Kukuryky (Koroszczyn termilnal), the press-service of the Customs Committee in Bialystock informs.

They would make it possible to bring system to the queues, step up traffic safety and to give drivers an opportunity to have rest. When the number of trucks going to the border crossing points is to increase considerably (more than 550 in front of Kuznica, 450 near Bobrowniki and more than 700 near Kroszyn terminal), the line is divided into two parts, into two buffer zones. The vehicles in the first buffer are passed through gradually, while trucks traffic in the second one is paused at that moment.
