Russian fans want to march in a column along Minsk streets.
The news is spread by Eduard Latypov, president of the Russia Unites Fan Club, BaltInfo reports.
The 78th Ice Hockey World Championship begins in Minsk on May 9. Russian fans don't want to ignore the historic date. Eduard Latypov, the Russia Unites Fan Club, says fans will march in a column along Minsk streets and take part in the events organised by the authorities.
“The opening day of the world championship falls on May 9 this year. We traditionally hold events marking the Victory Day. On May 9, we plan to organise a column of Russian fans and take part in the events in Minsk,” Latypov said. “ We are discussing the matter with the Russian embassy in Belarus and the Minsk city executive committee, which is in charge of preparations for the world championship.”
Latypov promises to inform later about the form of the Victory Day celebration and the assembly place for Russian fans.
