Charter97.org readers reports of a strike at a large knitted goods factory.
“In Homiel practically the whole ‘8 March’ factory is on strike.
The people demand that the 13th salary was paid and paycheck increased.
The director did not come out to meet the workers.
The salaries are beggarly at the enterprise – employees, working 6/7 and having over 20 years of experience, get paid about 3.5 million. In the meanwhile the director bought himself another mansion. The whole enterprise knows about that and the city administration!” - the charter97.org reader reported.
The enterprise administration’s phones are currently not responding, but we are looking into the details of what happened.
The ‘8 March’ enterprise is considered in Belarus to be one of the largest in the light industry. It produces knitted goods and hosiery.
