Prayer for political prisoners in Independence Square photos 4

7:56, — Society

Minsk residents prayed near the Red Church for political prisoners and the victims of political repressions.

From what charter97.org managed to learn, the event was held by the Action 16 group yesterday, on the Solidarity Day.

Civic activists and simply caring citizens prayed for the people, who are in prisons for political reasons, as well as for the politicians and civic activists, abducted by the Lukashenka regime.

In 1999 and 2000 the politicians Jury Zakharanka and Viktar Hanchar, a journalist Dzmitry Zavadski and a businessman Anatol Krasouski disappeared in Belarus, and their fate is still unknown. The prayer for political prisoners near the Red Church takes place regularly after the dispersal of the 19 December 2010 manifestation, and anyone can join.
