In Donbas, Ukraine, Russian troops used cluster munitions.

They have been used in the area of Donetsk airport and Ukrainian army lines in the settlement of Peski, TSN informs.

According to the reports from intelligence men in the area of the anti-terrorist operation to the news source, three launches of “Tochka-U” ballistic missiles have been recorded. These missiles penetrate even concrete fortified localities.

In case Ukrainain troops lose the defense line in the region of Peski, military say the airport of Donetsk will be blocked, and the way to Krasnoarmiisk (Krasnoarmeysk in Russian) will be opened for separatists.

We remind that militants started a large-scale storm of Donetsk airport on September 12. Ukrainian military repelled the offensive, however shelling by the occupants continued. On September 14 evening active fighting there restarted.

On May 19-30, 2008 a number of countries drafted and approved the Convention on Cluster Munitions, which bans use of cluster bombs. The treaty was signed on December 3, 2008 by 93 states. For today 108 states have signed this document.
