Tozik proposes fines for parents if their children don't attend kindergarten

Parents will have to pay if their children are absent without a “good excuse”.

Belarusian teachers pay attention to the absence of legal grounds to expel children from nursery schools: some children attend kindergartens only a few days a month. From 25% to 30% of children do not go to nursery school every day without a good excuse. So, parents reserve a place for their kid, but send them to kindergarten only when they want so, Zviazda newspaper writes. Deputy prime minister Anatol Tozik found a solution to the problem.

Nursery school teachers and the deputy PM think the valid excuses for absence should be clearly defined and parents must pay if their children are absent for no grounds. If a child does not attend nursery school without a good excuse for a long time, his place should be given to the next family in the queue.

Deputy PM Anatoli Tozik also proposed that parents should pay in full if they want their child to attend kindergarten after 6 year old rather than go to school.
