Minister of Justice of Poland: Putin cannot be a guest, while waging a war

The Polish Foreign Ministry has used diplomatic tricks to invite Putin for the anniversary at Auschwitz so that he could not come.

Cezary Grabarczyk, the Minister of Justice of Poland, confirmed that President Putin had been not invited to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz precisely because of the war in eastern Ukraine, ZN.ua reports.

"In eastern Ukraine the war continues. Amid such circumstances, it is difficult to imagine that the Russian President will visit the anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camp. Russia, despite formal objections, takes part in the Ukrainian conflict", the Minister affirmed.

It is reported that the Polish Foreign Ministry has used diplomatic tricks to invite Putin for the anniversary at Auschwitz so that he would not come. Instead of invitations registered in accordance with a protocol, the Polish Foreign Ministry sent out not signed verbal notes to all the leaders of Europe.

The diplomats had to call in Warsaw and clarify whether this was an official invitation. That was the reaction of all the capitals with the exception of Moscow.

Vladimir Putin did not participate in the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

Miloš Zeman, the President of the Czech Republic, criticizing sanctions against Russia and sympathizing with Moscow's position, invited Putin and the leaders of the allies of World War II in the alternative, less large-scale activities in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, which took place on the same day as the ceremony at Auschwitz.

But many Czech people were angered by Putin's invitation. The Czech Federation of Jewish organizations distanced itself from it. None of the Heads of States confirmed his participation in events in the Czech Republic. Besides, almost no one leader of countries of the EU came to the alternative West. Therefore, the pro-Putin's anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in the Czech Republic failed.
