Andrzej Nowak: Russia invests huge money in far-right organisations in Europe

The position of the western leaders who take Russia's side and ignore the cynicism of Putin's propaganda shows their ignorance.

Russia puts huge money in far-right organisations in Europe. Putin repairs the image of the country that opposes the West, especially the United States, Polish historian and specialist of Soviet history Prof. Andrzej Nowak thinks.

Nowak said in an interview with Rzeczpospolita that interest in Russia decreased after the fall of the Soviet system, but the country has begun to attract attention again due to the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict.

“Vladimir Putin represents Russia as a strong country, an alternative to the 'rotten West' with its political correctness, atheism and LGBT rights, a country that allegedly protects the cross and traditional values,” Nowak is confident.

Prof. Nowak thinks that Putin is regarded by many European conservators as the last hope, as the person who opposes political correctness. The Polish expert turns attention to the fact that Russia also buys its supporters.

“Russia invests huge money in far-right organisations in Europe. This is how Putin finds his supporters,” Nowak is confident.

The professor thinks the stance of the western leaders who take Russia's side and ignore the cynicism of Putin's propaganda demonstrates their ignorance.

“Some of them, and we see a lot of such people, are even ready to pray to the KGB lieutenant colonel for him to come and free them from the imperialistic demon or European correct Conchita Wurst,” Andzej Nowak adds.
