Observer Exposed Monstrous Ballot-Paper Fraud in Minsk

A member of Minsk city election committee from the Belarusian Populat Front party Zmitser Kaspiarovich has exposed a fraud with ballot papers.

He decided to go round district election committees and check up the number of ballot papers given to voters, and the real number of signatures of voters, who received ballot papers personally, and put their signatures in a list, charter97.org was informed at the campaign “Right of Choice -2015”.

As of the morning, October 8, 146 ballot papers were issued at the polling station №25 of Savetski district of Minsk, while only 109 voters put their signatures in the list.

At the polling station №26 of the same district of Minsk 351 ballot papers were handed out, while 162 voters signed a register to acknowledge receipt.

On October 9 in the morning 308 ballot papers were given to people over the three days of the early voting at the polling station №49 of Savetski district of Minsk, however, there were only 170 signatures in the register of ballot papers.

One of coordinators of “Right of Choice - 2015” campaign Dzyanis Sadouski believes that it was the reason why the authorities do not accept representatives of democratic parties and organisations to electoral committees of different levels, to make it harder to disclose such facts of fraud with ballot papers.

- The violations detected by us show that members of precinct electoral commissions are boosting the turnout, and stuffing with sham voting ballots is going on, – Dzyanis Sadouski said.
