David Cameron: Attempts of Russia’s “appeasement” are a mistake

In the run-up to the summit in Minsk the British Prime Minister David Cameron has called the police of “appeasement” of Russia and its president Vladimir Putin a mistake.

He said so while answering the questions at the House of Commons in the British Parliament. David Cameron said that it would be not right to encourage the aggression and brutality through “appeasement”, BBC informs.

He said the policy of sanctions against Russia is right, and underlined the importance of unity of the EU and the US on the issue.

The term “appeasement” was used by the European diplomacy to name the policy towards the Nazi Germany.

The climax of the appeasement policy was a conference in Munich in 1938, at which the Great Britain and France simply handed over Czechoslovakia to Hitler.

It freed Germany’s hands for launching aggression in Europe.
