EU sanctions against Russia to enter into force despite Minsk Agreement

Europe does not cancel the decision to extend the sanction list.

The "black list" adopted by the EU Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs because of the situation in eastern Ukraine will come into force on February 16. Brussels EUobserver reported on Thursday referring to unknown EU higher-ranked official, Korrespondent writes.

Based on proposals of the European External Action Service and the European Commission it was decided to include additional 19 individuals and 9 entities in the sanction list.

"The black list" was prepared after shelling of Mariupol, eastern Ukraine, which killed 30 people.

Earlier on Thursday in Minsk the leaders of Normandy Four completed negotiations on Donbas deal. As the result, the Presidents of Ukraine, Russia, France and the German Chancellor adopted the Declaration in support of Complex of measures to implement the Minsk accords. Many experts believe that these agreements bring no pluses for Ukraine and name them "Europe surrender".

Earlier, the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė said that until March sanctions against Russia would not be reconsidered. In February the EU will monitor the implementation of Minsk agreements.
