Tymchuk: Number of Russian regular troops increases near Debaltseve

Russian-backed militants are not halting their attempts to attack the Ukrainian armed forces near Debaltseve, in spite of the agreements reached in Minsk.

Head of the Information Resistance group Dmytro Tymchuk wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.

According to Tymchuk, the number of Russian regular troops in this area has dramatically increased.

"Several military units of the Russian armed forces have been united in tactical groups," he said.

"Ukrainian artillery has repeatedly fired on the militant positions. However, the militants continue to attack, despite suffering significant losses near the villages of Lohvynove and Nyzhnie Lozove over the last days, where they lost eight armored vehicles and up to 10 units of road transport," Tymchuk said.

"Units of local militants from the LPR that were withdrawn deep into the territories they control from Debaltseve in order to reinforce their own troops have said that they refuse to fight together with the Russian regular troops, as the latter are used in the most dangerous areas," he said.
