Belarus' Darya Blashko dedicates gold medal to home country

Darya Blashko won the first gold medal for the Belarusian team at the ongoing 2015 IBU Youth/ Junior World Championships in Raubichi.

Belarusian biathlete Darya Blashko sealed the victory in the 6km Youth Women Sprint (under 19 years old). After the finish, she shared her impressions: “Two days ago everything was much more difficult, and my shooting performance was a bit off. However, today it was different. All our team did great. I was falling behind a bit after the first shooting, but my coaches were leading me and giving me tips, especially when I shot clear. I am so grateful to everyone!”

The champion emphasized the important role of the coaches who trained her for the competitions. “We fulfilled all the training schedules and did a huge work. Together with coach Vladimir Makhlayev we went through tedious trainings. Another person who helped me win was Anzhelika Kotyuga who took care of my physical and technical training. My victory proves that we have done a great job,” Darya Blashko pointed out.
