What is the cost of bananas in Minsk?

During his press-conference the Belarusian dictator told lies about costs of fruits.

“Take an example of bananas. A kilogram of bananas used to cost a dollar, that is, previously it was Br10,000. And now the dollar has grown and a kilogram of bananas costs Br13,000 – 14,000,” Lukashenka said on Thursday, January 29 at the press-conference in Minsk, commenting on the situation with imports, “Nasha Niva” informs.

“I do not eat bananas, and many of you don’t eat them either. We can do without it,” he added.

But many Belarusians are fond of bananas, they often eat and buy them. They were surprised by the prices of bananas announced by Lukashenka: one can hardly find bananas at less than Br20,000!

A reporter of the newspaper visited Minsk shops and found out the prices for these foreign fruit. It turned out that the leadership of the country is too far from real life.

The cheapest bananas are in Evroopt store chain, they cost just Br 18,000. However, they are small. But still it is far from Br14,000 mentioned at the press-conference.

Bananas are also cheap in Kamarouski market. Their costs vary from Br18,000 (lower quality) to Br26,000 (the best quality). However there are not many bananas in Kamarouski market.
