Vintsuk Vyachorka: Only Lukashenka to benefit from meeting in Minsk

Lukashenka is far from being a neutral party in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

On Wednesday, February 11, leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France are to hold a meeting in Minsk, dedicated to settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The sizes are expecting that during the meeting in Minsk their efforts are to result in “immediate and unconditional bilateral ceasefire.”

As Vintsuk Vyachorka believes, only Lukashenka is to gain from the talks in Minsk, Radio Svaboda informs.

“If such a meeting is planned, two questions arise. Firstly, the so-called Minsk agreements have been totally wrecked by Russia, and to revive them in a new situation, instead of granting assistance to Ukraine in its defence from the aggressor means to help the aggressor.

And secondly, with any result of such a meeting, only Lukashenka, who is painstakingly creating an image of a mediator and peace-maker, gains points. Meanwhile, military presence of Russia in Belarus is growing, that is, Lukashenka is in no case a neutral party. And he is not so also because he does not accept the free expression of the will of the Ukrainian nation,” the politician noted.
