Kabiakau: Belarus is ready for large-scale cooperation with the DPRK

On March 11 Belarusian Prime Minister met with Li Sung-Yueng, Foreign Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

During the meeting Andrei Kabiakau noted that Belarus was interested in building up constructive relationships with all partners. The development of mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation is of high priority, BelaPAN reports.

"I am sure that Belarus-Korea relations have great idle potential in this sphere", the Prime Minister said. He added that Belarus was ready for large-scale cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

"As far as I know, your priority areas for cooperation are as follows: deliveries to the DPRK of agricultural and automotive engineering, organization of assembly factories, deliveries of light industry products, revitalization of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission, cooperation in agricultural sphere", the head of the Government said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, he says, will coordinate the work to develop the projects.

In particular, in the framework of the current visit the DPRK representatives have already visited a number of industrial enterprises in Belarus, and assessed their potential. Kabiakau hopes that meetings with the leadership of these companies were held in a constructive way and provided some impetus to the development of Belarusian-Korean interaction.

The Prime Minister noted that the Korean side in this regard needed to determine specific partners willing to constant interaction with Belarusian enterprises.

"As for work resumption of the Intergovernmental Commission, we will change the Belarusian staff and generate proposals on possible directions of cooperation", Andrei Kabiakau said. He underlined that the Belarusian side was interested in effective and mutually beneficial work of the structure.
